This effort was spearheaded by Peter J. Pappas, current National Chairman and President of the Cyprus Children’s Fund Inc. Mr. Pappas, a Cypriot American, is himself a prominent philanthropist and a successful businessman. During the last two years additional donations were made through solicitations (mainly upon the initiative of Board Member Mr. Michael Anastasiou) in the form of real estate sale proceeds, donation of stocks, etc. Two yearly scholarship awards are presented to students who are studying full-time in an accredited United States Institution. Applicants may be of Greek and Greek Cypriot origin, with residence in the United States, Cyprus and Greece.
